Sign the Petition!
Last November the voters of Macon and Bibb County approved a referendum to consolidate the government. The wording of the referendum clearly stipulated partisan elections for officeholders in consolidated Macon-Bibb County. Now, some members of the Georgia legislature are proposing legislation to make these elections nonpartisan, ignoring the wishes of the people. Sign the petition urging the lawmakers to respect the wishes of the voters in Bibb County!
Qualifying Ends
While this is still subject to Justice Department approval, elections for the new consolidated Macon-Bibb County are scheduled for July 16. See this document for a list of all who qualified.
