We are a group of concerned citizens working to improve the quality of life in Macon and Bibb County. Democrats
include people from all walks of life who are united in the belief that
good government depends on the active involvement of all citizens. Fiscal
responsibility, effective and responsible national defense, civil rights,
environmental protection, quality public education, health care access,
veterans' concerns and workers' rights are only a few of the issues that
Democrats continue to champion.
The Bibb County Democratic Party is hosting a series of debates for the Macon-Bibb County Consolidated Government races. See the calendar page for details.
Sign the Petition!
Last November the voters of Macon and Bibb County approved a referendum to consolidate the government. The wording of the referendum clearly stipulated partisan elections for officeholders in consolidated Macon-Bibb County. Now, some members of the Georgia legislature are proposing legislation to make these elections nonpartisan, ignoring the wishes of the people. Sign the petition urging the lawmakers to respect the wishes of the voters in Bibb County!
While this is still subject to Justice Department approval, elections for the new consolidated Macon-Bibb County are scheduled for July 16. See this document for a list of all who qualified.
